He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence F. Leistner and Dorothy Leistner (Nordhoff); and his sister Carol Sue Leistner. He is survived by: his wife Beth Leistner of Raphael's Catholic Church; his children, Kevin Leistner (Mary), Jasper and Audrey Bravo (Ricardo); his grandchildren, Grace, Bentley Kluesner and Jackson Bravo; and his siblings, Donald Leistner (Yvonne), James Leistner (Cathy), Judy Freeman and Phyllis Fowler (Steve). He is also survived by seven step-grandchildren, and 10 step-great grandchildren.
