He was predeceased by: his wife Linda L. McVey; his parents, Robert McVey and Vernie McVey; and his siblings, Bennie McVey, Johnnie McVey, Sarah Hovis and Myrtle Stanford.
He is survived by: his children, Steve McVey (Moi) of Lake Wales, FL, Rhonda Fields of Dunkirk, IN and Theresa Hill (Sidney) of Muncie, IN; and his siblings, Naomi Cook of Muncie, IN and Bob McVey (Dawn). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer's Association or American Cancer Society.
