He was predeceased by: his son Robert (Leslie); his parents, Landon and Pearl; and his brothers, Richard (late Marjorie), David, Jean Spiekhout (late Don) and William (Charlene).
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Gardiner; his children, Patricia Cherney (Mark), Charles (Colleen) and Timothy (Tina); and his grandchildren, Steven, Aaron, David, Andrew, Kate, Nicole, Elizabeth, Blake, Brooke, Sarah, Anna, Emily and Brynn.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansing or to a charity of the donor's choice.
