He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Mathews. He is survived by: his children, Frank Mathews, Charles Mathews (Greta), Nickolette Hart, William Mathews (Veronica) and Victoria Novak; and his grandchildren, Kristen Vonasek (Bryan), Andrea Leydet, Danielle Norris, Jessica Mullner (Erik), Lauren Mathews, Lindsey Norris and John Novak. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fagen Miller Funeral Homes - Dyer (1920 Hart St, Dyer, IN 46311). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
