She was predeceased by: her stepchild Sherie Frei; her sisters, Nancy Witvoet (late Boyd "Pete") and Marilyn Neumeyer (Fred); and her parents, Ernest Hattem and Hazel Van Hattem.
She is survived by: her husband John Jonkman; her children, Darren Prince (Sandra) and Darla Lane (Jeff); her stepson Rodney Jonkman; her grandchildren, Morgan Lyzenga (Luke), Molly Haan (Kyle), Madison Oskam (Mitchell), Ryan Lane (Kendra), Devin Lane (Abby), Adam Lane, Kristen Frei and Dakota Berens; and her great grandchildren, Claire, Lettie, Jed, George Lyzenga, Maisy, Hallie Haan, Maria, Maverick Oskam, Finnegan, Wesley Lane, Mallory and Carter Lane.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Smits Funeral Home (2121 Pleasant Springs Ln, Dyer, IN 46311). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at the Skyline Memorial Park (24800 S Governors Hwy, Monee, IL 60449).
