She is survived by: her children, Shelley and Justin; her husband Bill; her grandchildren, Kristen, Andy Link, Stanley and Henry; her children, Tom Toolis, Thomas, Sean, Cordelia, Nathan, Annie and Alexander; her siblings-in-law, Pat Westerhof, Ron, Doris VanHouten, Irene Tuininga, Harry, Jan Westerhof, Mary Westerhof, Sally Hummel and Christina Hummel; and her friends, Doroty Helder Vandenberg and Ida Mantel Reedyk. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as numerous cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Smits Funeral Home (2121 Pleasant Springs Ln, Dyer, IN 46311). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church (3500 Glenwood Lansing Rd, Lansing, IL 60438). A burial was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at the Oak Ridge Cemetery (1881 Thornton Lansing Rd, Lansing, IL 60438).
Special gifts may be made in Grace's name to the Illiana German Program, and to the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance Burn Camp.
