She was predeceased by: her parents, Roger Childress and Norma Childress. She is survived by: her husband Mathew Klein; her children, Chandra Pallikan (David), Scott Klein (Christina Norton) and Michael Jerome Klein; her granddaughter Kristen "Sweet Pea" Pallikan; and her siblings, Steve Childress (Alex Marin), Alan Childress (Sherry), Michael Childress (Margaret Ptacek), Lynn Childress and Mary Kay Collins. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and good friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Joan's name to Hospice of the Calumet Area (hospicecalumet.org) or to Zion United Church of Christ.
