Mark Mulder II Obituary
Mark Alan Mulder II, 52, of Dyer, IN passed away in the comfort of his home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Mark was born on March 22, 1973, in Rome, New York, to Kathi Nichols and Mark Mulder. He married Jennifer Sowers-Mulder on July 19, 2003, in Kankakee. They had one son together, Kevin James, on June 12, 2008.
Mark worked at Hamende Sewer, Inc. with his brother-in-law Jared. He also spent many years helping with carpet jobs alongside Mr. Bob or helping a friend or family member with a project. Mark was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel seen and valued. He was absolutely adored by his nieces and nephews, they loved him dearly and the feelings were reciprocated. Mark loved basketball, the Chicago Cubs, being on the water, and spending time with family and friends, especially his nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. It's been said that Mark would give you the shirt off his back and many have been the recipient of that sentiment. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jen Mulder; his son, Kevin Mulder of Dyer; his mother and stepfather, Kathi Nichols and Mr. Bob Nichols of Bonfield, IL; his stepmother Debra Mulder of Martinton, IL; his siblings, Tonya Machaj (Mark) of Glen Ellyn, IL; BriAnne Danielson (Brendan) of Herscher; Mother-n-law, Sissy Breedan of Dyer; Sister-n-laws, Stepanie Beard (Jared) of Bourbonnais, IL and Rachel Wofford (Perry) of Montgomery, AL ; nieces Kaylee Cote (Shaun) of Bradley, IL; Carley Beard of Bradley, IL and Miss Emmie; nephews Gavin Beard of Bourbonnais, IL, Jack, Ben, and Nick Machaj of Glen Ellyn, IL, and little Wesley; great nieces Brielle and Collins; great nephews Easton, Jack, and Bradey Steve.
He is preceded in death by his father, Mark Mulder; his father-in-law, Clarence Sowers; stepbrother James (JJ) Tilley; and his dear friend, Kevin Knorr. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00 am, with a service beginning at 12:00 pm. It will be held at Real Life Church, 2095 W Station St., Kankakee, IL.
There will be a lunch to follow at the American Legion, 835 W Broadway St., Bradley, IL. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Kevin's college fund.
