He was predeceased by: his nephew John Damalos (Heather); his parents, Angelo and Panagiota; and his great-niece Stassi. He is survived by: his wife Mary Liakos; his children, Paul Liakos and Sarah Liakos; his stepchildren, James Prohaska and Jennifer Miller (Wes); his grandchildren, Angelo Liakos, Marc Olena, Aiden Miller and Zevin Prohaska; his sister Frances Damalos (Steve); his nephews, Nick (Danielle) and Angelo; his godchild Stamati Damalos; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Francesca, Adoni, Frances, Paula and Steven.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Smits Funeral Home (2121 Pleasant Springs Ln, Dyer, IN 46311). Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Ridgelawn Cemetery (4401 W Ridge Rd, Gary, IN 46408).
