He was predeceased by: his grandson Lucas Groves; his parents, John Fezekas and Anne Fezekas; his son-in-law Gerry Groves; and his sister-in-law Charmaine "Tiny" Brandon.
He is survived by: his wife Judith M. Fezekas; his children, Tina Groves (Daryl Zuffa) and Rick Fezekas Jr. (Denise); his grandchildren, Brady Fezekas and Ryan Fezekas; his brother John A. Fezekas (Kathy); and his nieces and nephews, Matthew Fezekas (Jennifer), Nicole Moore (Derek), Jeanna Skierkiewicz (Vince) and John Brandon (Bobbi).
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Smits Funeral Home (2121 Pleasant Springs Ln, Dyer, IN 46311). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens (8178 S Cline Ave, Schererville, IN 46375).
