He was predeceased by: his brother Bill Shoemaker; and his parents, Kenneth Shoemaker and Ivy Shoemaker. He is survived by: his wife April D. Shoemaker; his children, Erin Joy Brown (Colin) and Robert G. Shoemaker (Eliza Jane); his grandchild Ivy Pearl; and his siblings, Kay Pratt (late Moe), Beverly Blandford (Robert) and James Shoemaker (late Pat).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Honor of Bob, to Meals on Wheels of NWI or Samaritans Counseling Center, where he volunteered much of his time.
