We bid farewell to Ronald L. Hunter of Dyer, Indiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 20, 2025 at the age of 88. Ronald touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Lee Hunter; his brother Michael Hunter; and his parents, Russell Hunter and Mildred Hunter. He is survived by: his sons, Mark Hunter (Sharon) and Keith Hunter (Lori); his grandchildren, Lauren Blount (Danny), Ryan Hunter (Taylor), Aaron, Brad and Chelsey Hunter; his great grandchildren, Brettelynn Blount, Maxson Blount, Trenton Blount, Allison Hunter and Jackson Hunter; his brother Dennis Hunter (Pamela); and his family, Hammond and Patricia.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Smits Funeral Home (2121 Pleasant Springs Ln, Dyer, IN 46311). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (7227 Hohman Ave, Hammond, IN 46324). A burial will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens (8178 S Cline Ave, Crown Point, IN 46375).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.
