He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Hernandez and Maria Hernandez; and his brothers, Jesus and David Hernandez. He is survived by: his wife Refugio Hernandez Sanchez; and his children, Javier, Luis, Juan, Rafael, Adan, Santiago, Jose, Antonio, Rito Hernandez, Eva Hernandez, Rocio Hernandez and Maria Carmen Avina. He is also survived by his 48 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kuiper Funeral Home (9039 Kleinman Rd, Highland, IN 46322). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary's Church (802 W 144th St, East Chicago, IN 46312).
