He was predeceased by: his son Joseph D. Berrios, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Iris Belia Berrios (Solero); and his children, Milta Berrios, John Berrios, Marilyn Vasquez, Nelson Berrios, Joel Berrios and Noel Berrios.
