It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Monica Peña of East Chicago, Indiana, who passed away on April 21, 2024, at the age of 36, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Monica may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of our lives, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. She is survived by : her parents, Rosa M. Peña and Everardo Peña; her brother Carlos; and her grandmother Carolina Rodriguez. She is also survived by her cousins, aunts, uncles, godchildren, and so many friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens (8178 S Cline Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (3510 Deodar Street East, Chicago, IL 46312). A committal service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens (8178 S Cline Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307).
