He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Valdez and Maria Luisa Valdez; and his brother Leon Valdez (Elsa). He is survived by: his wife Juana Q. Valdez; his children, Rafael Valdez and Maribel J. Soto (Roberto); his grandchildren, Miles, Rider Valdez, Nayeli and Tatiana Soto; and his siblings, Teresa Frevert (late Jeffery), Alicia Paz (late Ricardo) and Ruben Valdez (Maria). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
