He was predeceased by: his parents, Salvador Cardona and Aurora Cardona. He is survived by: his wife Ana Rosa "Honey" Cardona; his children, Sergio, Jr. Cardona (Claudia), Daniel C. Cardona (Evelia Magaña) and Maribel Cardona (Efren Gonzalez); his grandchildren, Sergio, Alejandra, Maria F., Daniel, Luis E., Victoria "Vicky" and Efren "Guero"; and his great grandchild Angel. He is also survived by brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 7th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Saturday, August 8th 2026 from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM and on Saturday, August 7th 2027 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, August 8th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the St. Mary Church (802 W 144th St, East Chicago, IN 46312).
