He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernie Besing and Edith Besing (Scholz); his daughter JoNell Stevenson (Besing); and his siblings, Carolyn Gill (Besing) and Alan Besing.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Besing (Menikheim); his children, Jan Firebaugh (Park) of Bloomington, IN, Grant Besing (Terri Ann) of Hobe Sound, FL and Quent Besing (Margaret) of St. Louis, MO; his son-in-law John Stevenson of Carmel, IN; and his sister Margaret Tyring (Besing) of Newburgh, IN. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM. A masonic service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 8:00 PM at the Alexander North Chapel (4200 Stringtown Rd, Evansville, IN 47710). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Alexander Memorial Park Chapel of Remembrance (2200 Mesker Park Dr, Evansville, IN 47720). An entombment was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at the Alexander Memorial Park (2200 Mesker Park Dr, Evansville, IN 47720).
