It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth Covington of Elizabeth, Indiana, who passed away on January 27, 2026, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Evans and Maryann Evans; her husbands, Richard Canty, Edward Covington and Nathaniel Brown; her sons, Levy, Joseph and Daniel; her stepson Nathaniel "Joey" Brown; her siblings, Leroy, Buddy, Benny, Charity Mae and Inez; her nieces, Lisa Gaffney, Francis Evans and Virginia Evans; and her grandstepson Lil Joe.

She is survived by: her granddaughter Sade; her children, Louise Brown-Williams, Diane Brown, Lisa Brown Covington, Barbara Covington-Branker, Edward Covington, Robert Covington and Nathan Brown-Covington; her sister Mary Lee Peterkin; her sons-in-law, Brian Branker and Ricardo Williams; her nieces, Tausha Maupin, Evelyn Peterkin and Sherry Peterkin; her nephew Milton Peterkin; and her grandchildren, Tyler, Jah, Terrell, Sabrina, Samone, Precious, Jessica, Tye, Francis, Marco, Tisha, David, Javonne, Capri, Sequan, Tyrone, Casey, Eddie, Nicole and Dawn. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
