He was predeceased by: his parents, Violet Ratliff and Wilfred Schell; his brothers, Jim, Mike, Gary and Donny; his wife Karin Neider Schell; and his son Mario Robert "Bobby" Schell.
He is survived by: his daughter Sandra Helene "Lanie" Avery (Mike); his grandchildren, Melissa Wiseheart, Stephen Wiseheart (Morgan), Sarah Wiseheart (Ray Austin) and Michael Avery, Jr. (Erika Hoffman); and his sisters, Sue and Connie.
