She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis McCoige and Maxine McCoige (Holcomb); her husband Elmer H. Howard; and her son James C. VanDusen Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Debra Karre (Terry) of Elkhart and Mark VanDusen (Glenda) of Cassopolis, Michigan.. She is also survived by grandchildren and nephews.

In her memory, donations may be made to either Riverview Adult Daycare or Heartland Hospice.
