He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Kern and Miriam Kern (Thomas). He is survived by: his wife Patricia Sullivan; his sons, Tom Kern (Jeanne) of Elkhart, Tim Kern (Dawn) of Elk Grove, CA and Terry Kern (Michelle) of Reed Point, MT.; and his grandchildren, Kylie Schottmuller (Jarrett), Aimee Kirby (Daniel), Madelaine, Alyssa, Tyler, Alix and Sydney.
