He was predeceased by : his parents, Bernard Cavanaugh and Margaret Cavanaugh (Carbury). He is survived by : his wife Donna; and his children, Brian and Julie. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a loving host of extended family and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church (411 W Vistula St, Bristol, IN 46507). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorial donations made in Dan's honor can be directed to Foundation Fighting Blindness, St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, or to a charity of one's choice.
