He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest G. Lutes and Catherine Elizabeth Lutes (Rakowska); his former wife Pamela Lutes; and his siblings, Richard Lutes, Ernest D. "Tiny" Lutes Jr. and Joan Rogers.
He is survived by: his wife Vickie Lutes; his children, Richie Lutes (Jerrilyn Lechlitner), David Lutes (Terri) and Angela Wooden (James); his stepson James "Jim" Laughman; and his siblings, Paul Lutes (Cindy), Robert Lutes and Pamela Freeze (Gary). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
