It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Harold Helbling of Elkhart, Indiana, who passed away on April 19, 2024, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In bidding Douglas adieu, let us not mourn the silence that now fills the spaces Douglas once occupied, but rather celebrate the vibrant colors he painted upon the canvas of our lives. For while he may have departed from this earthly realm, his spirit remains a beacon of light, guiding us through the darkest of nights.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Emil Helbling and Norma Helbling (Stickel); and his wife Debbie E. Helbling (Hotovy). He is survived by : his sons, Joshua Larson (Jill) of Elkhart and Jeremy Larson (Mandy) of Georgia; his sister Linda Ganger (Gary) of Union Town, OH; and his pet Daisy. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Walley - Mills - Zimmerman Funeral Service (700 E Jackson Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46516). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home (700 E Jackson Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46516).
