Ervin Bontrager Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ervin Bontrager of Elkhart, Indiana, who passed away on December 24, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl V. Bontrager and Marietta Bontrager (Kilmer); his wife Carol Dawn Bontrager (Bossard); and his siblings, Lois and Larry.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Hans and Niklas; his friend Bryce Schrock; his cousins, Dean Welty and Steve Ramer; his great-nephew Philip; his sons, Pete and Tom; his siblings, Mary Rhoadarmer (Don), Carolyn Martin (Leroy) and Dennis Bontrager (Betty); and his brother-in-law Murray Byer (Doris). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ervin's wishes were that memorial contributions be given to the Union Center Christian School Endowment Fund, Nappanee, Indiana.
