She was predeceased by: her parents, Fannie Douglas and McMillian Douglas; her husband James W. Barnett; and her siblings, Eloise, Andrew and Edward.
She is survived by: her children, Stephen Lewis and Constance Lynn (Connie); her grandchildren, Robyn McFarland, Brandon, Felicia Dawson, Megan and Pierce Barnett; her great grandchildren, Odell, Zahrya McFarland, Jaylin, Jrue Dawson and Cydnie Dawson; her sister-in-law Margaret Branscomb (Barnett); her cousin Horace Barnett (Marjorie); and her son-in-law Arvis L. Dawson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
