Franklin Geene Herington Obituary

In loving memory of Franklin Geene Herington of Elkhart, Indiana, who departed this world on July 7, 2025 at the age of 55. Franklin leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Geene Duane Herington and Bonieta Fern Maxson (Drake); and his siblings, Linda Toppins (Grady), Marcia Kay Maxson, Steven Edwards, Gary Dewayne Edwards, Connie Jo Little and Kim Herington.

He is survived by: his wife Sharlene D. Herington (Schmucker); his children, Zachary Geene Herington (Lynnsey) of Indianapolis, Eric Joseph Herington (Rebecca) of Elkhart, Monica Lynn Chiddister (Bryce) of Goshen, Ashley Renee Roush (Gavin) of Cassopolis, MI and Crystal Rose Herington of Elkhart; his grandchildren, Edward, Edith, Greyson and Mable; his siblings, Rick, Vicki and Terry; his mother-in-law Irene Schmucker-Thomas (Frey); his aunt Norma Jean Miller (Maurice); his uncle Harold Laverne Drake; and his friends, Linda Lofti, Melanie Edwards and JoLee LaRue. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:50 PM at the Billings Funeral Home (812 Baldwin St, Elkhart, IN 46514). A celebration of life was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
