He was predeceased by: his parents, Benno Merklein and Hannelore Merklein (Hohner). He is survived by: his wife Lisa; his children, Kaitlin (Fabian), Jordan (Tyler), Michael (Alex), Cassandra, Mackenzie (Cody) and Valerie (Robert); and his grandchildren, Atticus, Williams and Lucas.
