He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest and Mary N. Taylor (Hughes); and his brother Steve R. Taylor. He is survived by: his children, Herman Taylor, Jr. (Cathy) of Goshen, Richard Smith, II of South Bend, Kristine M. Moran (Dustin Hartman) of Osceola, Julie A. Taylor of Long Beach and Mellisa A. Smith (Derek Adams) of Mishawaka; his brother George A. "Andy" Taylor of Elkhart; and his grandchildren, Bradley, Britney, Brionna, Bridget, Braedon, Shelby, Alyssa, Neil, Richard III, Ethan, Gillian, Emma, Carson, Angela, Nathan and Amanda. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, and a loving host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
