He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry E. Van Dusen and Elizabeth "Catherine" Van Dusen (Cauffman); his sons, James Van Dusen Jr. and Greg Addington; and his siblings, Charles Mitchell and Evelyn Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Van Dusen (Stoner); his children, Mark Van Dusen (Glenda) of Cassopolis Michigan, Debbie Karre (Terry) of Elkhart Indiana, Theresa Cole (Jeff) of Carmel Indiana, Carol Taylor of Elkhart Indiana, Mary Merrick (Todd) of Edwardsburg Michigan and Yvonne Addington; and his sister Betty Yourist. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
