He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph H. Charles Sr. and Carrie Mable Charles (Harding); his wives, Lois Elaine Mapes and Evelyn Harle (Northcraft); his sons, Ronald J. and Rick A. Charles; and his siblings, Henry R., Joseph H. Charles and Bertha E. Yeakey.
He is survived by: his daughter Susan Stoneburner (Randi) of Apollo Beach, Florida; and his stepchildren, Ann Priester (Herb) of Walworth, Tom Harle (Georgia) of Naperville, David Harle (Stephanie) of Dadeville and Rick Harle (Gloria Rupert) of Winnebago, Illinois.. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be given to Bashor Children's Home or Prostate Cancer Foundation.
