He was predeceased by: his mother Nancy Barnes (Rufer); his stepson Alex Dias; and his brother Jason Lee Barnes. He is survived by: his father James Barnes of Elkhart; his stepson Ethan Dias of Kansas City, MO; and his grandmother Carol Rufer of Mishawaka, IN. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be given to Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home to help with the expense of a Memorial Bench for Jeffery to be placed at the Bent Oak Golf Course.
