He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Koontz and Elma Koontz (Rumsey); his daughter Cindy; his grandchildren, Eric and Heather; and his siblings, Jeannine and Jeffery.
He is survived by: his wife Mary "Ginny" Vincent; his daughter Julie Black; and his grandchildren, CaSandra Muncie, Michael Muncie (Stephanie), Alicia Black and Kamrin Hyche. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, and 4 nieces.
