He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph John and Sarah Belle Nowak (Kanouse); his siblings, Floyd "Sonny" Rinehart and Jo Anne Williams; and his brother-in-law Michael Cudowski.
He is survived by: his wife Judith "Judy" Nowak; his stepdaughter Kim Carroll (Dennis); his sons, Evan and Logan; his stepdaughter Elizabeth Vigue (Scott); his sister Peg Hull; his siblings-in-law, Evelyn Rinehart, Mary Enfield (Rollie), Judi Cudowski and Joseph Cudowski (Jean); and his close friend Lily. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and his faithful beagle.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Billings Funeral Home (812 Baldwin St, Elkhart, IN 46514). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at the St. Vincent Cemetery (1529 S Nappanee St, Elkhart, IN 46516).
