She was predeceased by: her parents, Karl Sams and Treva E. Sams (Head); and her siblings, Harry "Bo" Sams, Shirley Lynch and Beverly Stockton.
She is survived by: her pet Jeffrey Lee Schwartz; her children, Andrew Coen (Daryk) of Huber Heights and Stephanie A. Sirois (Ryan) of Dayton, Ohio; her sisters, Pamela Miller (Ray) of Gillett and Alice Kitanoski of Elkhart; her grandchildren, Gavin, Mindy, Emma, Kelsey Harrington and Nikola Coen; her great grandchildren, Olivia and Oaklynn Harrington; and her pet Annabelle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Elkhart Marine Corps League #1397, PO Box 2679, Elkhart, Indiana 46515 — a cause that held Karla's heart, and which will now carry her memory forward.
