She was predeceased by: her father William "Bud" Brouwer; and her former husband Jim M. Van Elk. She is survived by: her mother Elaine Brouwer of Elkhart; her husband Dan Schroeder; her children, Rebecca Gardner (Aaron) of Goshen, IN., Billy Van Elk (Kimberly) of Granger, IN., Steven Van Elk (Jennifer) of Noblesville, IN., Theresa Long (Josh) of Goshen, IN. and Joshua Van Elk (Hanna) of Cincinnati, OH; her grandchildren, Iain, Ellie, Evelyn, Jamsie, Nora, Andy, Olivia, Adrienne, Juliet and Adelaide; and her siblings, Dick Brouwer (Debi), Linda Vander Klok (Larry), Patti Szuminski (Tom) and Jimmy Brouwer (Anne). She is also survived by mama to her stepchildren.
