It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lucile Markel of Elkhart, Indiana, born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, who passed away on April 8, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank V. Alstine and Elsie Van Alstine (Tanke); and her brother Robert Van Alstine. She is survived by: her husband Robert S. Markel; her children, Janet Kuehn (David) of Fowlerville, David Markel (Janet) of Niles and Paul Markel (Mary Jo) of Orlando, Florida; her grandchildren, Jessica Torrentz (François), Christopher Kuehn, Joel Markel, Josilyn Markel (Emmanuel Kiegaing), Andrew Markel (Emma), Benjamin Markel and Abigail Markel; and her great grandchildren, Natalie Torrentz, William Kuehn and Harrison Kuehn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
