He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewel Abner and Edna Mae Abner (Wilson); and his sister Jane Thalheimer. He is survived by: his children, Alitza Aguirre (Meghan Odon) of Butler, PA and Adriana Hunt of Mishawaka, IN; his grandchildren, John, Matthew, Olivia and Alona; and his siblings, Pat Quittschreiber of Elkhart and Larry Abner (Frieda) of Starkville, MS. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
