He is survived by: his wife Barbara True (Chester); his daughter Melissa Hertsel (Wade); his grandchildren, Jess Galicia, Zachary Hertsel (Katie), Nathaniel Hertsel, Aleah Jordan and Jessica Bouie; his great grandchild Willow; his children, Sam Bouie (Fran) and Kathy Wyatt (Mark); and his brother Virgil True Jr..

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
