He was predeceased by: his father Charles E. Ashby; and his brother Charles "Chuck" Ashby. He is survived by: his mother Tina Rae (Fearnow); his stepfathers, Maurice Hartman of Elkhart and Norman L. Lowe; and his children, Brendon Riegsecker (Monica) of La Follette, Leslie Murata (Karl) of Topeka, Tristen Keeler (Julian) and Railyne Ashby of Middlebury. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
