He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Diane Pontius. He is survived by: his sons, Jeremy L. Mellinger (Catherine Eggleston) of Elkhart, IN and Timothy L. Mellinger (Heather) of Brimfield, IN; his grandchildren, Alexis Mellinger, Dayton Mellinger and Gabriel Kauffman; and his brother Tom Mellinger of Elkhart. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.
