He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond C. Penninger and Tokalee; his siblings, Raymond J. Penninger and Toka M. Stanley; and his fiancé Carmen R. Schipper.
He is survived by: his daughter Chelsea Penninger (Milez) of Mishawaka; his grandchildren, Trinity, Carson Edmonson of Mishawaka, Lexie Wakeland (Dylan) of New Haven, Cameron Geiger (Kylie) of Huntington, Lillie Geiger of Ft. Wayne, Elijah Geiger of Bradenton, Xavier Geiger of Ft. Wayne, J. J. and Aden Cudney of Missouri; his siblings, James Penninger of Florida, Leland Stanley, Jr. of Elkhart, Theodore J. Penninger of Yuma, Steven Penninger of Spring Valley, California and Christina Penninger of Spring Valley, California; his stepfather Leland Stanley, Sr. of Elkhart; his pets, Precious and Spot Alan; and his close friends, Mike Goldsberry of South Bend and Sherry Schreiber of Wyatt. He is also survived by extended family and lifelong friends.
