He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Kunkel and Collen Kunkel; and his brother Tom Kunkel. He is survived by: his sister Barbara Cook (Brad) of Elkhart, IN.; his sister-in-law Elizabeth Kunkel; and his sibling's children, Tony Cook (Julie), Heather Cook (Hannah Riley), Kristi King (Jamen) and Greg Kunkel (Rachel).
A reception was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home (1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46514).
