He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul A. Hardebeck and Mary A. Hardebeck (Hobbs); his wife Violet M. Hardebeck (Glotzbach); his siblings, Joseph Hardebeck and Norma Jones (Hardebeck); his granddaughter Laura Howsmon; and his brother-in-law Monte Rivers.

He is survived by: his children, Gary L. Hardebeck, Diane L. Piel (Paul), Debbie S. Howsmon (Gregg) and Kristi S. Leap (Jeff); his sisters, Margaret McMinn, Francis Tulowitzky, Nancy Downey (Terry) and Barbara Rivers; his friend Carolyn Hardebeck; his sister-in-law Judy Hardebeck; his grandchildren, Andrea Hardebeck, Elaina Hardebeck, Melissa Dillon (Joshua), Paul Powell (Katie), Andrew Powell, Adam Howsmon (Heather), Daniel Howsmon (Bryanna), Matthew Howsmon, Hanna Howsmon, Nathan Leap and Courtney Leap; and his great grandchildren, Megan Ewers, Evan Powell, Ellie Powell, Emma Powell and Hadley Howsmon. He is also survived by daughter, son-in-law, and 2 older grandsons.
