He was predeceased by: his children, Cathy Wrightsman and David "Bud" Hammond; his parents, Harmon Hammond and Ernel Hammond; and his siblings, Harold Hammond, Milburn Hammond, Violet Hartley, Mabel Polen, Macel Mitchell, James Lemmon, Helen Morgan, Nadine Woodard, Beulah Fern Hammond and Vena Denala-Hammond.
He is survived by: his daughter Tina Carter; his grandchildren, Chrissie Lamar (Jake), Jimmy Carter and Joe Carter (Alex); and his great grandchildren, Parker, Marcianna, Kaley, Case, Alex, Wes, Keagan, Ian, Kaycee, Bentley and Kinley. He is also survived by 9 Great Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
