He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Garrett and Dorothy Garrett (Sharp); his grandson David Snyder; and his siblings, Portia Garrett, Raymond Garrett and Randall Garrett.

He is survived by: his wife Jean Garrett (Sims); his children, Mike Garrett, Kathy Shappell (Al), Jerry Garrett (Cathy), Tim Garrett (Kelly) and Debbie Snyder (Dave); and his siblings, Clifton Garrett (Betty), Voris Brakmeier, Verneta Coplen and Shirleen Funkhouser. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
