It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Benny Day of Evansville, Indiana, who passed away on December 19, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Benny Day to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Day (Bell) and Sam Day; his son Brad Day; and his sisters, Doris Dixon, Jane Bruner and Susie Morse.

He is survived by: his wife Deihla Kay "Tootie" Day (Cox); his children, Pamela Day, Cathie Cure (Eric) and Jeffery Day (Kathy); his daughter-in-law Jennifer Day of Evansville, IN; his stepdaughters, Michelle Mercer of Ft Wayne, IN, Dawndy Mercer Plank (Craig) of Columbia, SC and Shannon Compere (Marc) of Orlando, FL; his sister Jean Greenberg (Thomas) of Evansville, IN; his brother-in-law Charles Cox (Bettye); his grandchildren, Kevin Day (Rachel), Kelly Coe (Derek), Nicole Kyte, Natalie Day (Jonathan Deidrich), Addy Earles (Jeremy), Kylee, Logan Day, Chandler, Chase and Camille Plank; and his great grandchildren, Kate, Grant, Claire Coe, Sam Day, Drew Day, Amelia Earles and Jade Deidrich.

Memorial contributions may be made to Missions at Christian Fellowship Church, 4100 Millersburg Road, Evansville, IN 47725.

“My wife Charlene and I relocated to the Zionsville, IN area three years ago. We truly hated to leave CFC and all the good folks like Benny! Every Sunday early morning service he and I found something to talk and laugh about. It might be a current event or a high school sports event back in the 1940s or 50s. And each time we have returned to our 8am service, Benny was first to meet us with a hug and something to laugh about. Our sincere condolences to Tootie and his family. I will miss him...”
