He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles "Pete" Franklin Hale and Janice Faye Sanders (Collins); and his stepfather Samuel Sanders. He is survived by : his daughters, Kara Hale (Cody Utley) and Katie Maynard (Garrie); his caregiver Suzie Hale; his siblings, Teresa Woods (Tim), Tennia Powers (John), Deonna Hall (James), Janetta Hale, Connie Van Cleave (Jim) and Charles "Danny" Hale; and his grandchildren, Hadleigh, Declan and Charlotte. He is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews.
