He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Diekmann and Huldah Diekmann; his son Gary; and his siblings-in-law, Michael Albano and Nancy Nosti.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Hoelzel; his daughter Carolyn Woelmer (Richard) of Bloomington, IN; his grandsons, Paul Woelmer (Jamie) of Johnston, RI and Philip Woelmer of Chicago, IL; his daughter-in-law Julie Diekmann of Evansville; his grandchildren, Adam Diekmann of Evansville, Sarah Coleman (Frank) of Evansville and Andrew Diekmann (Alex) of Indianapolis; his great grandchildren, Penelope, Stevie Diekmann and Phoebe Woelmer; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Isaac, Titus and Evie Coleman; his siblings-in-law, Dr. Grace Albano of Lee's Summit, MO, Kathleen and Dr. Juan Nosti of Mission Hills, KS; and his nieces and nephews, Christy Albano, Sarah Albano Goodman (Jennings), Dr. John Nosti (Peggy), Dr. Andrew Nosti (Courtney), Dr. Patrick Nosti (Hanae), Elizabeth Nosti Kettlewell (Mark), Matthew Trapp, JoAnna Trapp Simpson (Zach) and Daniel Trapp.
A funeral service was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM.
